Mitsubishi Outlander
Mitsubishi Motors Umhlanga once again introduce a new model to their range of powerful, economic and supremely capable vehicles.

Mitsubishi Motors Umhlanga once again introduce a new model to their range of powerful, economic and supremely capable vehicles.

This is no face-lift or minor remodelling, instead Mitsubishi have gone all out to produce a NEW Outlander. Starting at the welding line in their Mizushima plant where the body is manufactured, and going through the Shiga engine plant that produces Mitsubishi's totally new aluminium engine block, the label of new is used again and again. The new aluminium roof and new six-speed CVT transmission all represent technology and design that is new to the Outlander.

This five seater urban SUV has so much visual appeal you could be forgiven for thinking that it was not meant for off road, but the new Outlander switches easily from two to four wheel drive with style.

Bringing an all-new vehicle to the market means the designers have to reach new heights and achieve greater standards in performance. Having learnt from the weight saving gains of an aluminium roof in the Lancer, Mitsubishi employed it in the Outlander. The powerful 2.4litre petrol engine is also manufactured from aluminium. The twin cam multi valve cylinder head provides variable valve lift and timing for perfect performance under all conditions.

All this power, 125kW and 226Nm of it, is coupled to the INVECS-III gearbox, the third generation Intelligent and Innovative Vehicle Electronic Control System, with various settings. This is further enhanced by CVT (constantly variable transmission), which propels the electronically controlled four-wheel drive system.

And I haven't even touched on safety features yet. For the full picture you must call Mitsubishi Motors Umhlanga on 031 576 1300 or pop in at 2 Canegate Road, Umhlanga Ridge just behind Mercedes-Benz.

    3. To earn the appreciation of honest critics;
    4. To endure the betrayal of false friends;
    5. To appreciate beauty;
    6. To find the best in others;
    7. To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
