Pajero
Short might be a term one would use for its wheelbase, but that is as far as you will get with that term and the new Mitsubishi Pajero.

Short might be a term one would use for its wheelbase, but that is as far as you will get with that term and the new Mitsubishi Pajero.

One look at the stylishly Bold, convincing body lines of the new Pajero and you can see why it has a dozen Paris Dakar wins to its name. Mitsubishi have gone a long way with improving what was already a great SUV and off road vehicle. I recently had the joy of test-driving the short wheelbase 3.2 GLS DOHC intercooled turbocharged common-rail Diesel Pajero and have to say that I was pleased with its performance. One aspect of the new Pajero that impressed me was the Super Select 4WD-II (SS4-II) system, capable of switching from two wheel drive to four wheel drive and back speeds of up to 100km per hour.
With an overall length of only 4.385m this mighty little SUV can still pull a tow load of 2.8 tons. The back seat had ample room for three adults and the interior has been given a superb luxury finish. Plush black leather throughout the test model I drove made me feel rich.

Other models in the range of the new fourth generation Pajero are 3.8L GLS SWB, 3.2L GLX LWB, 3.2L GLS LWB and the top of the range 3.8L 24-valve V6 GLS LWB SOHC MIVEC petrol engine.

In short they have improved on everything from the 17-inch brakes to the INVECS-II Sport mode 5-speed automatic transmission, the ASTC traction control system to the independent 4-wheel suspension.

So for the long and the short of it call Sooren Naidoo and his new car sales team on 031 576 1300 or pop in at their delightful dealership at 2 Canegate Road in Umhlanga Ridge and put it to the test.
